Thus far, based on responses from the above companies, the anticipated conditions for end 2005 continue to be positive for the sector. On an index basis (50=neutral outlook), the outlook for industrial property for the next six months is slightly up from earlier in the year (79 v 77); for offices the reading has improved to 82 from 73 previously; and for retail the outlook has come down slightly to 68 from 73.
At the regional level, the confidence in Gauteng Industrials remains the same as 6 months prior; it has increased in the W. Cape and come down slightly in KZN and is marginally up for respondents taking a National view. For the office sector, all the provinces are showing a stronger outlook. For retail, in both Gauteng and KZN confidence remains the same as previously recorded, and from the W. Cape and National perspectives it has come down. |
